Action legends, K-pop idols, anime favorites, zombie thrillers, and even sparkling vampires are all heading to Philippine cinemas as the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) reviewed a colorful new lineup of films and special screenings for moviegoers this season.

K-pop and concert fans are also getting their moment on the big screen with TXT MOA CON IN JAPAN: Live Viewing, featuring global boy group Tomorrow X Together or TXT. The concert film was rated PG.
Anime enthusiasts, meanwhile, have plenty to celebrate. Assassination Classroom The Movie: Our Time and Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway are both set for Philippine screenings, with the latter featuring the voice of Kenjiro Tsuda. The films received R-13 and PG ratings, respectively.
Hollywood heavyweights are also arriving in force. In The Grey, starring Henry Cavill, Jake Gyllenhaal, Eiza González, and Rosamund Pike, was reviewed with an R-13 rating for its intense action and thriller themes.
Sci-fi fans can also gear up for The Mandalorian and Grogu, starring Pedro Pascal, Jeremy Allen White, and Sigourney Weaver. The highly anticipated adventure film received a PG classification.
For horror lovers, cinemas are preparing a chilling slate that includes Korean horror title Salmokji: Whispering Water, Speed Demon, and Megaworld Cinema exclusives Jack in the Box: Origins (Director’s Cut) and The Sadness (Director’s Cut).
Among them, The Sadness received an R-18 rating due to its graphic zombie horror content. Representing local cinema is Midnight Girls, a drama headlined by Jodi Sta. Maria, Sanya Lopez, Jane Oineza, and Loisa Andalio, which earned a PG classification.
MTRCB Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto said the variety of films reflects the growing diversity of entertainment available to Filipino audiences.
“From timeless classics and anime to concert films and local stories, viewers now have more choices than ever in cinemas. Our role is to help guide audiences through proper classifications while supporting responsible viewing,” Chairperson Sotto said.
