RabGel Takes Center Stage in Their First Anthology Series on Viva One

We were invited to the media conference of Viva One Originals: RabGel, the first anthology series headlined by rising stars Rabin Angeles and Angela Muji. For the two young actors, this project marks another major milestone in their growing careers—and both could not hide their excitement and gratitude for being given the chance to lead their very own anthology.

During the media conference, Rabin and Angela opened up about the meaningful experiences they had while filming the four-episode series, each one allowing them to explore different genres and showcase their range as performers.

Rabin shared how happy he was to work with Jerald Napoles in the episode Same Day Error. Beyond the laughs, it became a memorable learning experience for him. He recalled how Jerald had once encouraged him back when he was still doing extra roles, telling him that he would one day become successful because his face had “star potential.” That moment stayed with him, making their reunion in this project even more meaningful. Rabin also credited Jerald for teaching him valuable lessons in comedy, helping him sharpen his timing and confidence in the genre.

Angela, on the other hand, spoke about her experience working alongside acclaimed actor Carlo Aquino in My CEO Thinks I’m a Robot. She revealed how she was deeply moved by Carlo’s humility and professionalism. During one confrontation scene, Angela felt she did not perform as strongly as she wanted in the first take, which caused her to overthink. But Carlo quickly comforted her, reassuring her that it was okay and helping her move forward without dwelling on the mistake. For Angela, it was a moment that reminded her of the importance of grace and support on set.

Beyond romance and comedy, RabGel also expressed their dream of taking on more challenging projects in the future. Both shared their interest in doing horror films—particularly inspired by classics like The Grudge—and revealed that being part of the Metro Manila Film Festival is on their career bucket list.

Each episode in the anthology pushed them in new directions. In Ang Rider Kong Hoodlum, they tested their action skills in an explosive action-romance setup. Meanwhile, Us, Maybe became their most relatable project, resonating with them on a more personal and emotional level.

After capturing audiences in the Wattpad adaptation Seducing Drake Palma and making waves in A Werewolf Boy earlier this year, RabGel is now stepping into a bigger spotlight with this anthology. The series gives them the opportunity to shine both as a duo and as individual performers.
