Movie Review: Smaller and Smaller Circles


“Smaller and Smaller Circles” tells the story of Father Gus Saenz and Father Jerome Lucero, two Jesuit priests tasked to solve the murder of young boys who were eviscerated and thrown in the teeming slums of Payatas. To solve the murders, they have to explore the cramped urban landscape of 1990s Manila — a trap where there is no way out for a killer and his victims.


Smaller and Smaller Circles utilize its bestselling source material as well as a top-notch ensemble cast. Aside from premise, everything else about this movie feels fresh and powerfully authentic. The film create a mystery that questions every turn that every character makes. The mystery develops in directions that are totally interesting, leaving the entire movie exciting every minute. Every pace of the film has thrills that are present enough to keep you on the edge of your seat. Smaller and Smaller Circles is an essential viewing and one that will leave an unsettling but necessary lasting impact on the viewer providing you with plenty of social political statement armor to play with.
