“#Y” (“Hashtag Y”) chronicles the adventures of the members of a
generation made universal by the realms of social media, the internet,
sex, drugs and alcohol, and the occasional YOLO.
I like the mood and tone of the
film. It’s raw, young and fresh. This is something that we as youth can relate
to. The vision of the writer and filmmaker about the youth in this generation
was convey in this film. Napaka cool ng film. I like the cinematography ang gaganda ng mga shots. Ang galing din ng style sa editing. Even the production design ang husay din nilaro din nia. It's very modern.
It tackle issues na hindi masayadong natatalakay on
our local film which is the suicide. In a way you will get something new here
about knowing the life of a person that is having suicidal tendency. Compare to
the previous film of Gino which is The Animals mas may story ito and well
written ang screenplay. I appreciate the style that they did in cinematography
and editing para bumagay sa tone ng film. For the acting performance I think
the one who nailed it is Kit Thompson bumagay sa kanya yung role and he did well
siya ang pinakamahusay sa lahat. Elmo is also good too. So for the youth of
this generation please catch this on Cinemalaya because this is your film.
My Verdict: 3.5/5
