Movie Review: Virgin People

Three sisters live in a paradise where men are metaphorically and literally serpents of temptation. Their father takes his three daughters deep into the woods, far from the nearest town. He dies, leaving the girls educated enough to read from the Bible, ignorant enough to allow men to take advantage of them.

I’ve been able to watch the restored version of Virgin People on its premiere screening at Cinemalaya 2014. This is another classic film that worth to be restored, watched again and appreciated by the young bloods. So the film validated me that this is really an erotic art film that was shown in 80’s. Napakatapang ng pelikulang ito para maipalabas noong 80’s and I agree that this is a one rare film that was locally produced and yes its content is bold and sexy but it is done and good taste. Nagustuhan ko ang pagkapayak ng pelikula and its fresh take on that time the film was made. The film also validates that Celso Ad Castillo is the master of the sensual films in 1980’s.

My Verdict: 3/5
