Movie Review: P77

In a time when a lot of films tend to over-explain everything, P77 does the complete opposite — it holds back, keeps you guessing, and lets the mystery unfold slowly. It’s the kind of film that makes you lean in, pay close attention, and wonder what’s really going on. And right at the center of it all is a standout performance from Barbie Forteza.

Movie Review: Green Bones

It is believed that green bones found in a person’s cremated remains are proof of a person’s goodness in life. Remorseless criminals could never hold such a bone in their body.

A rookie corrections officer, Gonzaga (Ruru Madrid), wrestles with grief and anger as he faces Domingo Zamora (Dennis Trillo), a criminal on the verge of being released from San Fabian Prison and Penal Farm after being convicted for the brutal murder of his own sister.

Gonzaga finds himself torn between duty and personal emotion, as he raises questions about the nature of justice, the limits of humanity behind bars, and the price of redemption.

A teacher pays an increasingly steep price for defending the democratic process of the election.

During the 2007 elections, a former sexy star and a land-grabbing tycoon are in a tight race for mayor. Emmy, a strict yet popular teacher in a small town, is assigned to the Board of Election Inspectors for her local precinct. When violence erupts, she runs into the forest with a ballot box containing the last copy of the election results. Armed only with her resourcefulness, courage and wit, she tries to outmaneuver the goons who want the elections to fail. Her loved ones and community are caught in the crossfire as she pays an increasingly steep price for defending the democratic process.

Movie Review: PLAYTIME

Playtime revolves around three women from three different worlds who find themselves in the same situation involving a man they all mistakenly trust. Vlogger-influencer Allyson (Sanya) entertains a seemingly harmless fan but soon finds out how dangerous he actually is. Bride-to-be Roni (Coleen) wants one last adventure before she settles down. She decides to hook up with a stranger in a bar. Meanwhile, Patricia (Faye) only wants to get away from her abusive ex. She naively trusts a stranger she sees as a ‘hero’ who rescues her from her boyfriend. Three women. Three strangers of different personalities. Three lives intertwine as Allyson, Roni, and Patricia get entangled with the same man: Lucas (Xian). Lucas wants to play, but his idea of playing games is far from what these women imagined.
