MTRCB announces age-appropriate rating for films showing this week

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has released its latest age-appropriate ratings for films screening this week.

“Swan Lake,” a ballet film produced in IMAX format, received a G rating (General Patronage) from the review Board Members (BMs) Angel Jamias, JoAnn Bañaga, and Jerry Talavera.

Movies rated G are for audiences of all ages.

The PG (Parental Guidance) rating was assigned to “Abner,” a locally produced movie featuring Enzo Pineda, Rosanna Roces, and Mygz Molino, and “Red One,” a Christmas-themed movie starring Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans.

Films with a PG rating may contain themes that require parental guidance for viewers under 13 years old.

“My Hero Academia: You’re Next,” the fourth film adaptation from the popular manga and anime series, and “We Live in Time,” a romantic-drama, received an R-13 rating, which restricts viewers aged 12 and below from watching.

The Indonesian horror film “Pusaka: The Heirloom,” distributed by Viva Films, and “Decade of the Dead,” a zombie film from Pioneer Films, have been rated R-16 for audiences aged 16 and above.

“As we promote Responsableng Panonood, we remind all supervising adults to guide young viewers,” said MTRCB Chair Lala Sotto-Antonio. “Families can rely on these age-appropriate ratings to select the best films for everyone to enjoy.”
