Thanks to #MeToo Movement and streaming platforms, a short film without much fanfare became one of the most phenomenon feminist revenge towards religion and friendship betrayals.  1 BORN WITH A SILVER SPOON 

The last name Joson is synonymous with power, feistiness, wealth and controversies. Emille Joson's came from the powerful lineage in Nueva Ecija. Until her well known guerilla soldier grandfather Eduardo Joson decided to moved in Plaridel Bulacan in the early 1940s. Both her grandparents are from politician and entreprenuer clan, Luisa Javier and Eduardo Joson. She was born in October 10, 1992, Libra! Her late father was an accountant auditor mostly handled giant international cable studios in the Philippines, while her mom is a spanic beauty who owns many apartments. Joson got two sisters, Dina Joson a philanthropist businesswoman and Malou Joson an accountant auditor with 3 daughters! The Joson family are known for throwing fabulous parties with iconic singer performers.

 

2 REAL-LIFE ROMANCES

At the age of 19 Emille already proved her skills in her craft. From Radio DJ, to theater arts to film directing! Her international sleeper hit short film Adivino brought her countless nominations and awards like 37th Metro Manila Film Festival Best Student Short Film (Nominee), 2011 Bangungot Horror Film Festival Best Short Film U.P Diliman (Winner), 2011 PMPC Star Awards For Movies (Featured on Audience Book: Best Horror Short Films), and 2021 HCCOP Horror Critics Choice Online Poll (USA): Choice Sleeper Hit Short Film (Nominee) and Choice Breakout Foreign Short Filmmaker (Winner). Her short film with Mercedes Cabral titled My Second Mom also becomes 2013 Official Selection at the Guadalajara Intl. Short Film Festival! Her debut indie movie called Pagari: Mohammad Abdullah where she wrote the screenplay for also received PMPC Star Award for Movies nomination for Teejay Marquez. Joson also prove herself in acting after winning Best Supporting Actress for the role of the Devil on school broadway play, Jesus: The Musical. 

5 FROM NERD TO POPULAR IN HIGH SCHOOL 

After the school violence and bullying that happened to her in Dear Jesus Montessori School at Pulilan Bulacan! It's a 360 degree turn for her in Saint Francis De Assisi Montesori School at Banga Bulacan. Joson ditches her nerd-self and began wearing fashionably luxury outfits and branded perfumes like Chanel and Moschino. She became everyone's crush and very popular! She ruled the pageants, student council, and proms! On 2014 the campus invited her as their guest speaker. Dubbed as the youngest most successful alumna. 



6 A CINEPHILE WITH TASTE 

Joson got thousands of movie collections in one room that looked almost like a video shop! But Horror films are the first ever genre that introduces Joson to so many other films! The first ever horror picture she saw was 1973's The Exorcist and Celso Ad Castillo's Patayin Sa Sindak si Barbara. These are the horror films that pushes Joson to go to film school. 

 

 7 PRESTIGOUS COLLEGE SCHOOLS 

After studying Marketing in "Colegio De San Juan De Letran-Manila" due to admiration to Dr. Jose Rizal. Joson dropped out to pursue her art dreams. She went to "SoFA The One School" in Makati and studied acting, fashion and photography, she's batchmates with the famous visual artist Anina Rubio. Years after that she enrolled in film school owned by the multi-awarded Filmmaker Ben M-7 Yalung, "Asia Pacific Film Institute"! It's the film school too of other award-winning filmmakers today Kip Oebanda, Siege Ledesma, Jet Leyco, and more. Mentored by some of the veteran filmmakers like Jade Castro, Moira Lang, Emmanuel Dela Cruz, Manny Morfe, Armando Lao and more. The BAFTA and Golden Globe Nominee Dolly De Leon and international acclaimed documentarist Ditsi Carolino even once became special guest instructor in the said film school!


8 A TRUE FRIEND WE ALL NEED


Joson's teacher describe her like Emma in Jane Austen's novel. She love helping her classmates including fixing their problems. She even asked her father to pay one of her classmate's tuition fee so they can take an exam.


9 HUMINATARIAN BUT ZERO INTEREST IN POLITICS


Alaga Producers Cooperative was founded by Dina Joson! Since then whenever she and her sisters traveling back in forth secretly, both abroad and domestic. They never forget to help people. Many party-lists have been inviting them to run for politics. But Emille said in one interview, that they don't need a power or label to help people. 


10 BREAKING BARRIER IN FAMILY


Emille Joson is the only filmmaker in the family of entrepreneurs. Most of her family members are accountants, business woman, and marketing graduates! She's the first ever to break the old tradition but still become one of the most successful and bankable filmmaker in her generation.
