Movie Review: Nelia

Nelia is about a nurse who tries to uncover the mystery behind the deaths of patients in Room 009 and also discusses the issue of mental health among others.
Nelia is full of surprises. Its overloading twist makes you wonder what is real or not. You will feel being part of the film as the story progresses as you will be invested in knowing what will happen next. Nelia excels in tension building -it is both unpredictable and unnervingly restrained. Wynwyyn Marquez's subtle acting stands out that might be a darkhorse for best actress award come award night. She just nails her character on point without overacting. Raymond Bagatsing on the other hand, will get you with his villain acting but also will make you think if he is the real victim or the protagonist of the movie. Its elevated suspense on the last part of the film until its unveil the whole truth is something to look forward to when you watch this. So if you want to watch a fast paced suspense thriller Filipino film this MMFF, Nelia is a good catch.
