Movie Review: Huling Ulan Sa Tag-Araw

A seminarian looking for a sign, an entertainer longing for more time.  Their life takes a sudden turn when fate lead them to an unexpected romance.

His parents call him “God’s Promise”.  Growing up, everyone envisioned LUIS (Ken Chan) to become a priest.  He was made to believe that he was meant to follow a path of Holy life.  But on his final years, Luis was given a regency and had leave the seminary to reflect on his future.

Luis was looking for a sign from God when he met a bar performer, the fierce and beautiful LUISA (Rita Daniela).  Thinking that Luisa could be that sign he was asking for, he “hires” Luisa and takes her to his family’s house in Pagsanjan.  Meanwhile, Luisa needs the extra money to beat her personal deadline.

As their two different worlds intertwine, they soon find themselves falling hard for one other, but only to realize that fate is, yet again, taking them to a different course.

Huling Ulan Sa Tag-Araw is a decently made romantic comedy film that showcases the acting prowess of Rita Daniela and Ken Chan. The film will let you laugh out loud and fall in love from the start and let your tears fall towards the end. Rita Daniela shines in this film as she gave different range of acting from her natural comedy wit up to her sensitive performance in drama. I am happy that she finally has her launching film as lead actress as she deserves to be given a break on a feature film. Ken Chan on the other hand shines as a leading man material and support to Rita Daniela. Their chemistry is undeniable and they prove that they deserve a launching film and crossover from TV to silver screen. The film do have a great story to tell and shows us the meaning of life and unconditional love. The story and treatment of the film is appealing to the people and they will definitely enjoy watching this film. So if you just want to enjoy and just feel the love this Christmas, watch this heartwarming love story of Luis and Luisa in Huling Ulan Sa Tag-Araw.

My Verdict: 3.5/5
