Movie Review: LSS (Last Song Syndrome)

LSS tells the story of Sarah (Gabbi Garcia) and Zack (Khalil Ramos), as they enter adulthood. Sarah dreams of making it big in the music scene but somehow circumstances prevent her from realizing her full potential. Zack, on the other hand, yearns for a girl who is in love with someone-else.

How these two people coming from difference backgrounds connect and find each other is one of LSS's charms, not to mention the songs guaranteed to make you sing them over and over again (literally experience the last song syndrome).  As they struggle to the challenges of adulthood and several near encounters while following their favorite band, Ben&Ben, Sarah and Zack finally meet and that fateful event and how a single unforgettable song changed their lives forever.

LSS (Last Song Syndrome) is a well made original musical pinoy film. It caters its market well which is the millennials. The placement of all the original songs of Ben and Ben in the film are on point. The sound and musical aesthetic of the film are outstanding. The story of the film are relatable especially for those dreamers and want to fulfill their passion. The tandem of Khalil Ramos & Gabbi Garcia perfectly suit the film’s milieu. It’s so nice to see them together as they are refreshing. The two obviously can act and embrace their individual characters smoothly. Even the supporting actors from Tuesday Vargas, Elijah Canlas up to Iana Bernardez are good in this film. So if you want to watch a feel good, touching, musical, concert feels Filipino film, watch LSS.

My Verdict: 4.5/5

  1. I just felt like hindi worth it. Niloloko niyo yung young movie goers. Sinamantala lang habang sikat ang Ben and ben
Not the best critic pero opinion ko lang. Hindi inisip yung songs for each scene. Kathang isip kakantahin mo para makipagbalikan?seryoso ano ba lyrics nun? Pls dont fool the young minds. And ung kissing scene pls explain both crying sila 2nd meet nila then they kiss para san?
