FDCP Partners with Optical Media Board for International Festivals

The Film Development Council of the Philippines and the Optical Media Board on February 7, 2017 signed a Memorandum of Agreement to mainstream the release of clearances for Filipino films participating in international festivals and film featured for cultural exchange programs.

Signed by FDCP Chair Liza Diño and OMB Chair Anselmo Adriano, the Agreement would allow for faster processing of OMB clearances for Filipino films exported for international film festivals. Through endorsements from the FDCP, OMB will be releasing clearances to producers which would already cover the export and import of films.

“Every year, more and more of Filipino films participate in international festivals, be it for exhibition or competition. We initiated this partnership with OMB to make it more convenient for our Filipino producers to get an import and export clearance for their films since all storage devices must go through OMB,” said Chair Diño. Film producers who are participating in festivals or are screening their films abroad for cultural exchange and non-commercial purposes may now seek their clearance through FDCP.

The Memorandum of Agreement was signed during the OMB’s Anti-Piracy Information Campaign held at Meycauayan National High School, Bulacan where FDCP also pledged support to the campaign.
