Movie Review: The Fifth Wave

Four waves of increasingly deadly attacks have left most of Earth in ruin. Against a backdrop of fear and distrust, Cassie is on the run, desperately trying to save her younger brother. As she prepares for the inevitable and lethal fifth wave, Cassie teams up with a young man who may become her final hope - if she can only trust him.
The 5th Wave is an average sci-fi action romantic post apocalyptic film. We had seen this kind of plot in recent years but somehow for me there is a potential for this film. It would not be as best as Hunger Games, Divergent and The Maze Runner but this is a decent film to watch to with subtle tension and anticipation. The 5th Wave tells a decent story influenced with a particular teenage angst and flavor that when it is not disconnected. the story at times with superficial romance, reminds us of the genre and audience it is intended for. Not bad for a teen apocalypse movie.

My Verdict: 3.5/5
