Poll: What films are you going to watch on Cinemalaya 2014?

It's indie films season once again! My most favorite season of the year. As the leading Philippine Independent Film Festival, Cinemalaya will has it run from August 1 - 10 2014, marks its 10th year anniversary billed as Cinemalaya X.

“The road to Cinemalaya X has not been smooth but definitely rewarding,” Cinemalaya Foundation president Nestor O. Jardin said.  “We can’t help but be proud of what our filmmakers have achieved – the outstanding films they produced, the unique subject matters and stories they revealed to us, and the awards and recognition they garnered.”

The achievements of Cinemalaya over the past ten years are summed up in the Festival’s theme: A Decade of Connecting Dimensions.  The theme highlights Cinemalaya as a flourishing network of individuals, groups and institutions with a common goal of developing and promoting Filipino independent filmmaking.

The Cinemalaya Film Festival has 2 divisions the Director's Showcase for the veteran film maker and New Breed for the amateur film maker. The 5 entries competing in the Directors Showcase category are: Asintado by Louie Ignacio; Hari ng Tondo by Carlos Siguion-Reyna/Bibeth Orteza; Hustisya by Joel Lamangan; The Janitor by Mike Tuviera; and Kasal by Jay Altarejos. The ten finalists in the New Breed Feature category are: #Y by Gino Santos; 1st ko si 3rd by Real Florido; Bwaya by Francis Xavier Pasion; Dagitab (Sparks) by Giancarlo Lauro Abrahan V; K’na, The Dreamweaver by Ida Anita Del Mundo; Mariquina by Milo Sogueco; Ronda by Nick Olanka; Separados by GB Sampedro;Children's Show by Derick Cabrido and Sundalong Kanin by Janice O'Hara.
