Before “Feb-Ibig” ends, the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) classified four films ideal for family viewing.
This indicates that with parental and adult supervision, the film’s theme, scenes and language are appropriate and safe for young audiences.
Rated G (General Audience) or suitable for all ages are the South Korean films, “Secret: Untold Story,” and “Ive: The 1st World Tour in Cinema.”
Starring the real-life couple Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo, “Everything About My Wife” received a PG (Parental Guidance) rating, which requires parental supervision and guidance for viewers below 13 years of age.
Also rated PG is the biographical musical drama, “A Complete Unknown,” about the legendary American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan.
Meanwhile, the local horror, “The Caretakers,” which stars Filipino actresses Iza Calzado and Dimples Romana, has earned an R-13 rating, catering to 13 years old and above, which should be a good choice for those looking for a more thrilling theme.
With its vampire theme, the 1922 version of the American gothic horror film, “Nosferatu,” received R-16 for 16 years old and above.
MTRCB Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto-Antonio advises parents and guardians to be ready to talk to their children about scenes that could have an impact on their behavior.
“I encourage our parents and supervising adults to prepare themselves to discuss appropriate ways to learn about some scenes that their kids are not aware of,” said Sotto-Antonio, emphasizing that our elders can choose movies that are safe and appropriate for their kids by using the MTRCB’s age-appropriate ratings as guide.
