Movie Review: Pasahero

On a late-night train, seven passengers see a man harassing a woman but don't intervene for various personal reasons. The woman, Michelle, is later assaulted. The passengers face personal misfortunes connected to the incident. Haunted by visions, Angel eventually decides to seek justice. With the help of Michelle's ghost, the rapist is punished, and the passengers find some resolution.

The movie Pasahero explores the psychological (or sociological) phenomenon called the bystander effect-where people are less likely to help someone in need when others are around. Here, passengers on a train witness a crime but choose to stay silent, perhaps out of self-preservation.

Pasahero is a powerful and shocking  thriller Filipino film that I watch recently. It is definitely has something to say and a darkly delicious treat for fans of suspense film lovers! The combination of a gripping storyline and powerful themes leaves a lasting impression. "Pasahero" indeed stands out as a compelling Filipino thriller that not only captivates with its suspenseful narrative but also engages deeply with socio-political themes, offering a thought-provoking experience for its audience. The film's ability to blend gripping storytelling with a strong atmosphere makes it a must-watch for both thriller enthusiasts and those interested in films that challenge societal norms. Its emotional weight and commentary resonate long after the credits roll, showcasing the potential of Filipino cinema to tackle serious issues with artistic flair.

My Verdict: 4/5
