Harold (Paulo Avelino), a shy college student from the province, developed a close bond and a secret love for his friend AM (Janine Gutierrez), a rich city girl who is passionate about her dreams.
However, their contrasting personalities would hinder them from taking their friendship to the next level.
After five years, AM and Harold were reunited at their college friends’
wedding, and memories of the past come flooding back. Caught between the
past and the present, is it too late for them to change their future?
Or will this become just another what-if in their lives?
The feels, looks and emotion standout on the film Ngayon Kaya. This upbeat romance film takes us on the closer look of regrets and what if. Janine Gutierrez and Paulo Avelino team up is an engaging watch and the two have their own special brand of chemistry that keeps the film going. Their acting is universally excellent especially with the moments that require subtle actions and honest sensibility. You can feel the love of AM and Harold on the screen. The cinematography is noteworthy and adds color to the wonderful love story of the leads. The tandem of director Prime Cruz and writer Jen Chuaunsu succeeds again in giving us a modern love story that is well written and executed. It pulls at all the heart strings and hits the right emotions with a good soundtrack and story to follow. Ngayon Kaya is one of the decent Filipino romantic comedy that is worth watching on the big screen.
My Verdict: 5/5
