After two editions marked by the pandemic, the 4th Abrenian Heritage Film Festival (AHFF) is calling for entries for short films and documentaries.
The AHFF is the first and only film festival in the province recognized by the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) established in 2019 intended for filmmakers based in Abra and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).
Organized by Sine Abreńo ,it provides an opportunity for young Ilocano and Cordilleran filmmakers to showcase their talents and develop their creativity and originality in storytelling.
When the pandemic started in 2020, the AHFF continued and shifted online and has opened its submissions to filmmakers from Regions 1 and 2, as well as from Metro Manila, with the themes: 'One Province, One Region, Together At Home' (2020) and 'Culture in Crisis, Arts Fighting to Survive COVID-19 Impact' (2021) to encourage creativity in filmmakers in capturing their COVID-19 experiences.
Now on its 4th year, AHFF 2022, with the theme TAGIPATGEN (values) will be presented with a live audience at the Oval Era Cinemas in Bangued, Abra led by Sine Abreńo founder and festival director Dexter Galban Macaraeg, in partnership with the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) and the Department of Tourism (DOT) Cordilleras.
The Ilokano term “Pateg”, which means value, worth, or importance.
