G22 PPop Girl Group Drops Mellow and Mesmerizing Comeback Single, "Babalik"

After the successful launch of their hard-hitting femme fatale-esque debut single “Bang” back in February of this year and a string of performances ranging from the popular Wish Bus to the Araneta Coliseum (during the highly-anticipated 2022 P-POPCON), G22 (pronounced as “Gee-twenty-two”) is finally back with a mellow and mesmerizing single entitled “Babalik”.

“Babalik” was officially released on the midnight of May 20, 2022. The official audio
video and official lyric video of the song were also simultaneously released at the G22 Official YouTube Channel. The official music video was released on May 27, 2022, exactly one week after the single drop, also at the girls’ YouTube channel.
The gloomy, slow, and hypnotic vibe of “Babalik” is a stark contrast to the upbeat and powerful impression that “Bang” leaves. While “Bang” is essentially a female
empowerment song, “Babalik” exposes a more intimate and vulnerable side of the girls. The song is written by Danna Ysabel A. Tag-at, composed by Harold Kent N. Millan and John Japhet Bacarro, and produced by 7640 Inc and Paraisla. It is exclusively released and distributed by CS Music (Cornerstone Entertainment’s record label).

In an exclusive interview with producers Bret Jackson and Liz Jao (from 7640 Inc. and Paraisla) during the making of the music video, Bret shared that, ”This song really makes sense for this girl group. They could really give justice to it. And we are excited for this collaboration because we know that they are very talented...”
