“All
That Jazz” is a 1979 American film directed by Bob Fosse and written by
Robert Alan Aurthur. The story is a semi-autobiographical novel based
on aspects of the life of Fosse as a dancer, choreographer, and
director.
Fosse
was nominated for his film at the Cannes Film Festival in 1980 and won
the Palm d’Or award, widely considered as the highest award in the film
industry. It was selected to be preserved at the National Film Registry
in the United States in 2001.
The
classic “Footloose,” directed by Herbert Ross, follows the story of Ren
McCormack (Kevin Bacon), an upbeat teen who moves to a small town
where dancing and rock music have been banned
In “Saturday Night Fever,” director John Badham takes dancing to a whole level featuring disco songs by the Bee Gees. The Saturday Night Fever soundtrack is regarded as one of the best-selling soundtracks of all time.
It
features the story of Tony Manero (John Travolta), a working-class
young man who spends his weekends drinking and dancing all night at the
local Brooklyn club.
John Travolta got the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor - Musical or Comedy and the Academy Award for Best Actor.
