Movie Review: Hello, Love, Goodbye

Joy, a domestic helper who's still dreams of succeeding to live a greater life far from her depraved childhood, meets bartender Ethan, a  sweetheart playboy who is already building a permanent life in Hong Kong. Soon, they develop a friendship and become each other's joy against the grime and grind of the city. So much that when lonely nights come, they fully surrender to each other's comfort while the thought of 'this is just for now, we are not permanent' exists.

They wonder, can their 'for now' turn to forever? However, what happens when Joy's dreams must take her away from Ethan? What is the cost of wanting more?

Well-acted, Beautiful Story & Heartfelt!  Kathryn Bernardo &  Alden Richards team up works in this relatable OFW story that will truly pinch your heart. They are unexpected team up that surprisingly delivers undeniable chemistry and embrace their characters as Joy & Ethan so much that will make you hook to follow their journey in the film. Kathryn Bernardo truly develop into mature actress for this film and this might give her another best actress award. Alden Richards on the other hand is such a leading man material. He knows his character well and it is so refreshing to watch him on the silver screen. I appreciate him more after watching this film and became a fan.

It’s pretty obvious that director Cathy Garcia-Molina take good care the totality of the film, from the acting performance, cinematography, editing up to the screenplay and phasing of the film. I can say that this is one of her best film  as she already really master the epitome of making an entertaining romantic Filipino film.

Hello, Love, Goodbye is an emotional roller coaster that will make you laugh, kilig and cry from start to beginning. The supporting cast are  pivotal in the film from Maymay Entrata, Kakai Bautista, Lovely Abella, Joross Gamboa, and Jeffrey Tam that serve as the icebreaker of the film. Each of them have their own fair share of OFW story that will affect you. The soundtrack and selection of the songs in the film are very now and current that millennial will truly like. The Hong Kong as back draft of the story  was fully utilize as the whole film will let you see the beautiful spot and place in Hong Kong and let you feel the struggle and glimpse the OFW life in Hong Kong. So if you want to watch an updated OFW film with a well made romance drama Pinoy flick plus Kathryn & Alden in one film, watch Hello, Love, Goodbye.

My Verdict: 4/5
