PMPC Honors Iconic Names of Philippine Cinema as "Mga Natatanging Bituin ng Siglo"

In celebration of the 100 Years of Philippine Cinema this year, the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) will present the “Mga Natatanging Bituin Ng Siglo” (outstanding stars of the century) Special Awards to iconic names who have shared unforgettable and remarkable contributions to Philippine Cinema – for many decades -- and the great impact they made to the Filipinos.

The 35th PMPC Star Awards for Movies 2019 will bestow this highly special accolade to the following (in alphabetical order):  Nora Aunor, Tirso Cruz III, Christopher De Leon, Joseph Estrada, Eddie Garcia, Anita Linda, Niño Muhlach, Ramon Revilla, Sr, Susan Roces, Gloria Romero, Philip Salvador, and Vilma Santos.

These 12 “Mga Natatanging Bituin Ng Siglo” legendary honorees will gather together on one stage during the much-anticipated Awards Night on June 2, 2019 (Sunday) at the Newport Performing Arts Theater of Resorts World Manila, in a special production tribute, under the direction of Bert De Leon.

A once in a lifetime honor, this is the PMPC’s way of recognizing these seasoned artists with exceptional body of work, notable achievements in the Philippine movie industry, and simply because they have touched the lives of the Filipino people from their humble beginnings.

The PMPC will also give honor and tribute to four of the pioneer, senior former Presidents of the Club by bestowing them the “Outstanding Pillars of PMPC” special award – a long-overdue recognition and appreciation for their loyalty and dedication to this group of entertainment journalists, for many years:

Ethel Ramos (PMPC President in 1969, 1970, and 1973), Ronald Constantino (PMPC President in 1974 and 1975), Letty Celi (PMPC President in 1988 and 1989), and Veronica Samio (PMPC President in 1990, 1991, and 1992).

Congratulations, salute, and cheers to these Centennial Awardees, from the 35th PMPC Star Awards for Movies 2019!
