Movie Review: Tayo Sa Huling Buwan ng Taon

Tayo Sa Huling Buwan Ng Taon tells the story of aspiring filmmaker Sam (Nicco Manalo) and writer Isa (Vera), former lovers who meet each other five years after their break-up. They are now both with different partners: Sam with his co-teacher, nurturing Anna (Anna Luna), and Isa with Frank (Alex Medina), a childhood friend who is willing to give up everything for her.

Sam and Isa try to be friends and attempt to find themselves in the realm of their respective romantic partners.  But in the process, what they discover instead is pain and uncertainty as they come to terms with their feelings for each other and everyone around them.

A restrained  love story which speaks volumes in love. The strength of the film relies on its quiet  moments, where no dialogue is needed for the character and just letting the scenes communicate to the audience. The film presents a well-acted and   touching sequel that will surely many of us can identify in each of the four main characters. The rawness of emotions displayed by the actors playing as the lovers was so believable that you’d think this is about them for real. Tayo Sa Huling Buwan ng Taon is totally an upgrade from it sequel Ang Kwento Nating Dalawan in terms of production value, picturesque cinematography and decent soundtrack but its simplicity and honesty retains with its story that tells things like it is. The film will surely let you feel something even just for a moment that would soon become just fine memories.

My Verdict:  3.5/5
