"Wicked: Sing Along” earns PG; Four other films premiering this 1st week of 2025 receives R-13 rating from the Board

Filipino fans and moviegoers, the excitement of the blockbuster musical film continues with “Wicked: Sing Along” receiving a PG (Parental Guidance) rating from the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).

This allows children 12 years old and below to enjoy the film with the supervision of parents or guardians.

Featuring global superstar Ariana Grande as Glinda and multi-awarded artist Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, audiences can sing along to iconic tracks like “Defying Gravity,” “The Wizard and I,” and “Popular.”

For audiences seeking a more intense, adventurous and thrilling cinematic experience, the highly acclaimed anime “Attack on Titan: The Last Attack,” from Pioneer Films, is rated R-13 (Restricted-13), making it suitable for viewers aged 13 and above.

This movie is a compilation of the finale from the “Attack on Titan Final Season: The Final Chapters.”

R-13 was also assigned to Thai comedy-horror movie, “Rider,” starring Mario Maurer, due to frightening scenes, occasional gore and mature themes of ghost.

“Dominion of Darkness” depicting demonic possession and exorcism, and the American action-crime-drama, “Den of Thieves 2: Pantera,” are both R-13 because of mature content, language, and adult themes.

Meanwhile, the 10 entries in the ongoing Metro Manila Film Festival have been extended until January 14, 2025, due to insistent public demand.

MTRCB Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto-Antonio encouraged audiences to continue supporting films premiering this week, from international productions to locally produced masterpieces.

“We deeply appreciate the unwavering support of Filipino families for the Philippine film industry,” said Sotto-Antonio.  “As we welcome 2025, we remind parents and supervising adults to actively guide children while watching films and to foster meaningful conversations about scenes that may influence young minds.”
