THIS FEB-ibig, get ready for heartwarming and thrilling stories as the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) clears six films set to premiere this week.

Leading the line-up is the Filipino romantic drama, “The Loved One,” starring Anne Curtis, Jericho Rosales and Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray.

The film is rated R-13 for 13 and above. It tells the story of two former lovers who reunite after a decade, tracing the memories of their love and sorrow that never went away.

Also rated R-13 is the romantic drama, “Wuthering Heights,” a passionate and tumultuous love story set against the windswept Yorkshire moors.

The action thriller, “Shelter,” likewise earned an R-13 due to scenes depicting violence and suffering that may not be suitable for children below 13 years of age.

The story follows a former British government assassin living in isolation off the coast of Scotland, who is forced to confront his past while protecting a young girl from the agency determined to eliminate him.

The animated sports comedy, “Goat,” co-produced by basketball legend Stephen Curry, received a PG (Parental Guidance) rating.

Viewers below 13 years old may watch the film provided they are accompanied by a parent or supervising adult.

The movie follows an anthropomorphic goat named Will Harris, who dreams of becoming the greatest of all time in a basketball-like sport called roarball.

The horror films, “Diabolic” and “Strangers Chapter 3,” were rated R-16 (Restricted) due to supernatural themes, sustained horror sequences and disturbing imagery.

These films are recommended only for viewers aged 16 and above.

MTRCB Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto emphasized the importance of the Board’s role in guiding audiences toward responsible viewing.

“The ratings provided by the Board help ensure that films are age-appropriate in that young viewers are protected from content that may not be suitable for their level of maturity, while still allowing Filipino audiences to enjoy a diverse range of cinematic stories,” said Sotto.
