Ashtine Olviga Steps Into the Spotlight With Her First Anthology Series on Viva One

Rising actress Ashtine Olviga officially takes center stage as she headlines her own anthology series on Viva One, marking an exciting new milestone in her growing career. During the recently held media launch attended by members of the press, Olviga shared her experiences filming the series, the challenges she faced, and the memorable moments she had working alongside a diverse lineup of stars for each episode.

The anthology showcases Ashtine in different genres and storytelling styles, allowing her to explore a wide range of characters while collaborating with some of the industry’s most recognizable names.

Episode 1: Who’s The Boss?

Premieres March 13 on Viva One

The anthology opens with Who’s The Boss?, a comedy body-swap episode starring the iconic Rufa Mae Quinto. For Ashtine, this episode proved to be the most challenging among the four.

She revealed that portraying a character connected to Rufa Mae’s larger-than-life comedic persona required intense preparation and precision in acting. Mimicking the veteran comedienne’s timing, energy, and signature style was no easy task.

According to Ashtine, the role became so immersive that she sometimes found herself bringing Rufa Mae’s mannerisms home after filming — something she recalled with laughter during the mediacon.

Episode 2: My Melody

Premieres March 20 on Viva One

Switching to romance and music, My Melody is a romantic comedy featuring heartthrob singer Rob Deniel and Korean actor Lee Dae Won. The episode also marks Rob Deniel’s acting debut.

Ashtine shared how impressed she was by Rob’s musical talent, particularly his ability to compose songs effortlessly. Although language barriers limited her conversations with Lee Dae Won, she described the Korean star as warm, accommodating, and eager to learn throughout the production.

The episode promises a lighthearted yet heartfelt story that blends romance with music.

Episode 3: Balik Eskwela

Premieres March 27 on Viva One

Taking a darker turn, Balik Eskwela ventures into horror territory, inspired by a viral TikTok story. The episode stars Marco Gumabao and Sara Joe, delivering suspense and psychological tension.

Ashtine expressed admiration for Marco’s discipline, particularly his dedication to health and fitness, which she said inspired everyone on set. Meanwhile, working with Sara Joe held personal significance for her, as both actresses began their journeys in Viva around the same time — making the collaboration feel especially meaningful.

Episode 4: Bahay-Bahayan

Premieres April 4 on Viva One

The anthology concludes with Bahay-Bahayan, a moving family drama featuring Optimum Star Claudine Barretto. The episode explores the emotional story of a mother and daughter separated by circumstances and brought together by fate.

Ashtine spoke fondly of her experience working with Claudine, sharing how surprised she was by the veteran actress’s humility and warmth. Despite her superstar status, Claudine’s simple gestures and kindness left a lasting impression on the young actress.

More than just a showcase of different stories, the anthology represents a defining chapter in Ashtine Olviga’s career. Each episode challenges her to step outside her comfort zone — from comedy and romance to horror and drama — proving her versatility as a performer.

Through the series, audiences will witness her evolution as an actress, taking on complex roles while learning from seasoned artists and new collaborators alike.
