Movie Review: Slayzone

A rural area called Pulang Araw which is headed by newly-appointed Police Captain Corazon Fernandez and being promoted by V a famous vlogger and model, suddenly turns into a slay zone when a series of killings happen. Both their lives and the lives of the people around them are endangered in the course of finding out the truth behind the murders

Are you game for a suspense-thriller Valentine's movie date this year? Then, do consider SLAY ZONE, the latest whodunit mystery film directed by Louie Ignacio.

Hailed as a versatile genre actress but foremost a funny comedienne, Pokwang takes on the lead role as a female chief police in her rural town of Pulang Lupa.

But all peace breaks loose when a serial killer begins to wreak havoc as male victims fall prey one by one, as soon as celebrity influencer "V"played by Glaiza de Castro arrives in town to help promote the place to her social media followers. She also begins getting death threats just a few days of her stay.

Not for the weak of heart, SLAY ZONE literally slays it's victims the bloody gory way. Supported by tight close ups giving you goosebumps galore.

Watch out for action scenes done by Pokwang herself and how Maui Taylor's character adds spice to the scary case.

Check out the cute tandem and chemistry of real life influencers Queenay Mercado and rising British-Thai actor Richard Armstrong as they debut in this thriller.

Worth commending are support cast Rico Barrera, Abed Green, as well as Lou Veloso, Hero Bautista, Paolo Rivero, Raul Morit, Yian Gabriel, Tabs Sumulong, Panteen Palanca, and with special participation of Kuya Kim Atienza.

SLAY ZONE will keep you guessing who's the culprit and watch out for the unexpected killer twists! Slaaaaaaying this February 14 in theaters from Wide International Film Productions.

My Verdict: 3.5/5
