The movie follows the journey of Pepe Herrera's character, Junjee, a
caretaker trainee, as he becomes entangled with Toni Gonzaga's
character, Sheena, a spirited and self-centered woman who humiliates him
at every turn.
Toni plays opposite Pepe Herrera, who portrays a young engineering student (named Gyeon-woo in the Korean drama) who meets “the girl” at a train station and ends up having to take care of her when she passes out drunk. He subsequently gets involved in all her day-to-day activities and repeatedly gets humiliated by her in different situations, but eventually falls more and more in love with her.
My Sassy Girl Philippine adaptation is the craziest romcom Filipino film to watch but with a heart. The riot tandem of Toni Gonzaga and Pepe Herrera is hilariously funny and will make you laugh out loud every minute.
This is a kind of romcom where you never know what to expect and you will just find yourself crying in the middle of the film. So happy that Romcom Filipino films gets back on the big screen with this tandem that easily nailed their character. Toni Gonzaga still has it as a natural comedian and a charm that everyone delights to watch. Pepe Herrera just reciprocated as a funny leading man giving us a punch of laughter on his performance. There is definitely a Filipino twist in this South Korean classic romantic comedy making this more relatable to the humor of Filipino masses. . The chemistry between the two is natural and believable and their charismatic performance makes it more than worthwhile watching their love story journey in the film. So if you are fan of a romcom, you should never miss this as you will definitely enjoy and fall in love watching this film.
My Verdict: 4/5
