Lucas de Guzman is a fine example of how parents can encourage their children to be super-achievers in extracurricular activities without letting their schoolwork suffer.
At seven, he has already a number of feathers to his little cap.
A child celebrity in his own right, the chinito charmer is a naturally gifted player who started playing golf at the age of three.

To date, this young achiever has won numerous awards in his chosen sport and represented the country in various golf tournaments in the US, Thailand, United Arab Emirates and other parts of the globe.
Honored as the most influential Pinoy junior golfer at an awards rite in Tanghalang Pasigueno , Lucas is quite elated for his recognition.
"It feels good (to be recognized)," he enthused.
The young golfer, despite his impressive feats in his chosen sport, remains on top of his class as an honor student though.
“I try to balance my school and studies along with golf, so I can participate in tournaments regularly with the help of my mom,” he said.
According to Lucas, his favorite subject in school is Mathematics.
He also believes that mathematicians could be good golfers too.
“In sports, you also calculate your moves,” he said.
As a self-confessed fan of Tiger Woods, he hopes to become a professional golfer someday, too.
Given the chance, he also wants to try showbusiness.
Lucas was hailed as the International Multi Talented Golf Champion of the year in the 2023 Most Influential Filipino and Asian Awards held at the Tanghalang Pasigueno last October 1.
