In Insidious: The Red Door, the horror franchise’s original cast returns for the final chapter of the Lambert family’s terrifying saga. To put their demons to rest once and for all, Josh (Patrick Wilson) and a college-aged Dalton (Ty Simpkins) must go deeper into The Further than ever before, facing their family’s dark past and a host of new and more horrifying terrors that lurk behind the red door.
This is a kind of horror that does not rely on the jump scare but on the build up of the story and the atmosphere of the film that will make you invested to watch towards the end of the film. I also appreciate the good family story infused in the film and the heartfelt father and son story of Josh and Dalton that everyone can relate to. The film also has new characters that you will root for. I love the fusion of art, the coming of age and the character development of the cast. They all become vital in the wholeness of the film. If you are a fan and love the story of the Insidious, you will never get disappointed and definitely like this film.
My Verdict: 4/5
