With all the horrors and terrors that are happening around the globe, it might as well be the end of the world. And one director decides to end the world in a funny and cliché way: a Zombie Apocalypse. Produced by Master of Horror, Erik Matti, Sa Haba ng Gabi brings out the undead in the new horror-comedy film. Directed by young director Miko Livelo, the movie stars laugh out loud trio from Ang Babaeng Walang Pakiramdam Candy Pangilinan, Jerald Napoles and Kim Molina.
Neneng (Candy Pangilinan), a housemaid in an old and lavish mansion owned by a senator, invites her cousin Jhemerlyn (Kim Molina) to work with her. Needing a job, Jhemerlyn instantly accepts her cousin’s offer and soon discovers that the mansion is where the senator brings his mistresses. All is well for Neneng and Jhemerlyn in the mansion, except for the senator who came home one day looking very ill. Eventually, they found out on the news that a virus is spreading throughout the province which turns humans into zombies. During the apocalypse, the senator’s driver Noel (Jerald Napoles), also seeks refuge in the mansion. The three of them start to spend the longest night of their lives inside the mansion watching TV, flirting and trying to survive the zombie apocalypse. But can they all survive the night?
Director Miko Livelo started his career as a motion graphics artist and directed his first film “Blue Bustamante” in 2013, which gained international recognition when it premiered at the Osaka Asian Film Festival in 2014. In 2019 he directed the friendship-comedy film “‘Tol,” and the fantasy-comedy adventure film, “Unlilife.” For his new horror-comedy film SA HABA NG GABI, Miko Livelo teams up with award-winning filmmaker Erik Matti as producer, and casts the tried and tested funny chemistry of Ms. Candy Pangilinan, Jerald Napoles and Kim Molina, which will surely bring more chaos in the zombie apocalypse.
