An aspiring scriptwriter and hopeless romantic young female writer (Miles Ocampo) teams up with a seasoned male writer (Rocco Nacino) in creating the perfect romantic movie. As they go about their writing sessions, their progress and revisions are acted out by the characters, Joyce (Yeng Constantino) and Marco (Joem Bascon), who are celebrating their first 100 days as a couple. Their clashing personalities and different perspectives on relationships lead them towards a path of self-discovery, together realizing what it truly takes to write about love.
Write About Love is a breather of the usual pinoy romantic comedy and hugot film. Miles Ocampo and Rocco Nacino shines on each of their acting prowess and their tight know how of their characters. They let us feel the emotion and story of their character well. Both of them carries the film with warm and engaging performance. They are not only under rated actor and actress of their generation but also a fresh and great combination for this film. Joem Bascon and Yeng Constantino on the other hand had their own moment and onscreen chemistry. Joem shows in this film that truly he is a dramatic actor to beat. He showed a believable and affecting performance for this film. Yeng Constantino aside showing her musical talent on this film proves that she's not only a good singer but a decent actress as well. She just gave the right amount of emotion required for her character. The original theme song she sang "Ikaw Ang Akin" for this film was so heartfelt and definitely a bonus for this film. The way on how the story was told is unique and creative. It is a hugot film on the side but shown in a subtle manner. It is refreshing to see a love story that is not about romance but friendship. A well written and beautiful film. I just love the message of the film that in life it is not always a perfect love story, it's the imperfection that builds character.
My Verdict: 4/5
