As the holiday season approaches, the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has announced the age-appropriate ratings for films scheduled to premiere during the last week of November.
The highly anticipated release of Disney’s animated sequel, “Moana 2,” was Rated G (General Patronage), making it suitable for all ages.
Filipino singer-actress Belle Mariano did the Filipino version of “Beyond,” titled “Anong Daratnan,” which is a special end-credit music for its Philippine release.
Also rated PG were “Huwag Mo ‘Kong Iwan,” starring Rhian Ramos, JC De Vera, and Tom Rodriguez, depicting the emotional journey of two former lovers reuniting, only to part ways once again; and, “Idol: The April Boy Regino Story,” honoring the iconic Filipino singer known for his hits “Hindi Ko Kayang Tanggapin” and “Umiiyak ang Puso.”
Also earning PGs were “The Quintessential Quintuplets Specials 2,” a Japanese animation; “Here,” a family drama from Pioneer Films, and “Baekhyun: Lonsdaleite,” a concert movie starring K-pop superstar Baekhyun.
These films may contain themes and languages requiring parental guidance for viewers aged under 13.
The remastered 2004 Thai horror film, “Shutter,” received an R-16 rating, allowing only viewers aged 16 and above, due to theme, language, and violence.
MTRCB Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto-Antonio is reminding parents and supervising adults to always guide younger viewers about any potentially disturbing scenes.
“While films may not pose physical risks, we highly encourage parents to be prepared to discuss with their children the nuances of movies they have watched together,” Sotto-Antonio said.
