Movie Review: Midnight In A Perfect World

Midnight in a Perfect World is about four friends trying to survive the mysterious blackouts that happen in random parts of the city after midnight. In the near future, Manila is an almost-utopian city where people disappear after being caught out in mysterious blackouts that happen in random parts of the city after midnight. Four friends who think it's all a hoax find themselves in the middle of one. They're about to find out what really lurks in the strange darkness if they make it through the night.

Love the atmosphere and the mystery of the film. It is a modern take of post apocalyptic Filipino film that is close to reality and what is happening on our country. The cinematography, sound  and production design are well mounted in the film making this an effective thriller film to watch at the comfort of your home. The ensemble leads, Dino Pastrano, Glaiza De Castro, Anthony Falcon and Jasmin Curtis-Smith deliver outstanding performance representing different types of person that you can meet in your life and shows raw emotions with effective characterization on how they deal fear towards darkness. I like the allegory and and brilliant ideas that were decently executed and shown in the film. The film has a lot to say that you need to watch it twice or thrice for you to appreciate and absorbed further. Easily,
Midnight in a Perfect World is one of my favorite film of 2020.

My Verdict: 4.5/5
