Set
in 1947, Seklusyon is about the aspiring priests that are sent to a
remote convent to live in seclusion (Seklusyon) on the last day of
their training. The purpose is to shield them from evil of the world.
The plot thickens when a mysterious young girl comes to the convent but
the question is whether she is really sent by God or by the Evil. This
is the challenge awaits the candidates.
A haunting atmospheric horror film that has scary and thrilling nature that contributes to its paranoia clogged ambience. A mind-boggling film that will give an audience a lot to think about but keeps you interested until the final credits roll as you can never guess the ending until you see it. The inner message of the film and its moral values associated can be interpreted differently. Rhed Bustamante is such a great child actress and the newcomers Ronnie Alonte, JR Versales and John Vic De Guzman are promising. Dominic Roque and Phoebe Walker portrayed their characters smoothly and the supporting cast Neil Ryan Sese, Lou Veloso, Elora Españo, and Jerry Ohara may snatch an acting nod on the awards night. Seklusyon does not rely on special effects or suggestive screenplay and musical score to make us scare but works on the plot of the characters and ambience of the film that will make you believe that there is an evil on it. Production value at its best from editing, production design, cinematography and musical scoring. All of it blend together with a unique story line to thrilled us and give this quality horror film that we don't usually see on our local films. A good catch to watch this Christmas.
