Movie Review: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

In a time of conflict, a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire's ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves.

This is the first standalone Star Wars film, covering the last couple of days and hours before Episode 4. Best viewed in IMAX 3D. Gritty, darker than usual in tone and atmosphere but with enough of the classic humor to keep it grounded to the saga. It still has all the elements of  what a Star Wars fans liked and loved. The Imperial was awesome and a great breath of nostalgia for lovers of the originals. Of course the special effects were good as well as the fighting and action scenes.  The cast of the new characters introduced were all good justifying their role in the film. Rogue One is a decent prequel for the next episode of Star Wars that we all looking forward to watch!

My Verdict:  4/5
