Movie Review: Minamahal

Watching Minamahal felt like being transported back to my first love. AshDres delivered maximum kilig with their effortless chemistry, natural performances, and undeniable sweetness on screen.

The film tells the story of an introverted high school flower enthusiast who tries to win the heart of a love-hating visual artist by giving her flowers at key moments in her life. Their journey takes us through an on-and-off friendship and romance that begins in high school and continues into college, where the challenges of adulthood and reality start to unfold.

Movie Review: The Ride

In The Ride, Piolo Pascual plays Barry, a father estranged from his son Leo (Kyle Echarri). The story follows their tense and complicated relationship, which takes a darker turn when Leo discovers that his father is entangled in criminal activities.

As the film unfolds, it explores how the streets are not only divided by left and right—but also by the thin line between life and death.

After Bringing The Substance to the Philippines, CreaZion Studios Premieres No Other Choice, an Oscar-Buzzing Korean Thriller by Master Director Park Chan-wook

Movie Review: Isla Babuyan

The movie embraces camp to the fullest—if you’re a fan of afternoon teleseryes, you’ll definitely enjoy it. But beyond the melodrama, what struck me most was the film’s use of symbolism. Isla Babuyan itself becomes a metaphor: a place where people are burdened with sin and judgment. The pig (“baboy”) is another key symbol—representing filth, lust, and moral corruption. In the film, pigs are shown reproducing openly, which mirrors how characters like Lotlot de Leon’s Rose and eventually Geraldine Jennings’ Anastacia are harshly judged by the island community, not for their actions alone but for their very identities.

Movie Review: Magellan

The film portrays Ferdinand Magellan’s marriage to Beatriz Barbosa in Seville in 1517, focusing on their brief time together before his departure on the Spanish Crown’s ambitious expedition.

Set in the 16th century, the story follows Magellan—a young, ambitious Portuguese navigator—who rebels against the authority of the Portuguese King, unwilling to abandon his dream of discovering new worlds. Instead, he turns to the Spanish monarchy, persuading them to support his bold voyage to the fabled lands of the East.

Movie Review: 100 Awit Para Kay Stella

Fifteen years after their last encounter, Stella (Bela Padilla) and Fidel (JC Santos) cross paths once again. Stella, now a successful singles event organizer but fresh from a separation, carries an air of guarded strength. Fidel, retreating from the corporate world due to personal struggles, still finds himself haunted by his past love. Their reunion stirs up old emotions—complicated further by rising star Clyde (Kyle Echarri), whose presence reopens wounds and questions of timing. Will Stella and Fidel finally find the moment they once missed?
