Globe’s G Music Fest ensures festival goers’ safety, proper waste segregation and disposal

Globe is celebrating life’s big and small wins this year with an EXTRA special 917 GDay. For the first time since the pandemic, its much-anticipated G Music Fest will be held live on-ground, offering the best in music, entertainment, culture, and arts.

The National G Day on September 17, or 917, is Globe’s annual tradition of giving back to its customers, set on a date that is symbolic of Globe’s iconic mobile number prefix. This year, the event will be held at Circuit Makati, where exciting rewards and surprises await everyone, guaranteed to turn ordinary days into something extraordinary.

To ensure a safe environment, Globe, a staunch sustainability advocate, is calling for festival goers’ and their partners’ participation in observing health and safety protocols and properly disposing of their waste and limiting the use of single-use plastics during the event.

“As we come together to enjoy a fun and exciting day of music and togetherness, Globe keeps in mind that sustainability is a priority. We have set recommendations to help our festival goers follow sustainable practices while still making the most out of our extra special GDay,” said Jerome Patalud, Head of Globe Rewards.

Here are ways our festival-goers can have fun while still taking care of the environment at the G Music Fest:

1. Clean As You Go (CLAYGO)

Festival-goers are encouraged to keep the festival grounds clean by throwing their trash properly in the assigned bins. There will be six (6) sets of bins labeled biodegradable, non-biodegradable, and recyclables around the concert grounds.

For guidance of event attendees, these are particular to:

  1. Biodegradable waste - leftover food
  2. Non-biodegradable waste - used utensils, paper cups and food packaging
  3. Recyclables - aluminum cans and PET bottles

2. Use GCash for transactions

We also encourage concert goers to go cashless in transacting with establishments at the event, as all stalls are equipped to accept GCash payments.

3. Electric buses

Globe is also deploying GET electric buses for festival-goers, who will be able to get a ride from two routes:

Ayala One (Ayala Ave, Central Business District) straight to Circuit Makati

LRT Gil Puyat Station (Buendia cor. Taft Ave.) to Circuit Makati.

This service will be available throughout the whole day, making multiple trips back-and-forth from the pick-up point and concert venue. To avail of the ride, Globe and TM Customers just need to show their New Globe One app.

Safety Measures

In light of recent announcements on loosening mask wearing restrictions outdoors, Globe is strongly encouraging all concert-goers to wear face masks at all times to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Festival goers must also bring their vaccination cards as these will be checked upon entry to the venue.

Medical assistance will be available on-site with 20 medics, 3 ambulances, and 1 fire truck ready to respond in case of any emergency. A firetruck will also be on standby at the venue.

Festival goers are encouraged to bring jackets, caps or raincoats, and folding umbrellas in case of inclement weather. Full-size umbrellas with pointed ends are prohibited as a safety precaution.
