Movie Review: Starting Over Again

A pair of exes run into each other again years after a breakup that left them with plenty of unresolved questions. The film is centered on the story of two former lovers who meet for the very first time after their break-up. The film dares to pose the question on whether or not romantic love between two people who strayed apart could truly be rekindled despite the passage of time. The lovers in the film, as portrayed by Piolo and Toni, are faced with the seemingly insurmountable task of dealing with a huge unfinished business in their failed relationship.

The valentine offering of Star Cinema featuring the much awaited team up of Piolo Pascual and Toni Gonzaga. I cannot deny the fact that there is chemistry between the two and the long wait is worth it. Now that both of them are considered matured actors and actress , they are ready to do a film under the caliber director Olivia Lamasan that we all know how she left mark in every quality film that she did. So it’s good timing na ngayun lang gumawa ng pelikula ang 2 na pareho ng hinubog ng panahon ang galing sa pag arte.

What I like about the film is the story development, non-linear story telling na unti unting kinikwento sa mga manonood ang kwento ng pelikula. I like the opening billboard of the film and the integration of the social network apps that they call the LetterLater in the story of the film. The first part of the film is very emotional for me at talagang mararamdaman mo ang pagmamahal ni Ginny kay Sir Marco.

She deserve more exposure and I am looking forward for her next film na siya ang bida.

Speaking of suporta mahusay din as supporting role si Cai Cortez at Beauty Gonzalez. Beauty Gonzales for her good timing in comedy na nagpatawa din sa mga manonood. The ending of love story of Sir Marco and Ginny is realistic and the ending of the movie is hilarious!

I can smell the super box office hit of the film that can break I think the box officie of It Takes A Man and A Woman making Piolo and Toni as the Box Office King and Queen next year. So as early as now ,congratulations to Piolo Pascual and Toni Gonzaga. Good thing for Piolo as he now came back to the hundred million club.

The film is like a roller coaster ride iiyak ka, tatawa, maiinlove, makakarelate at may makukuwang aral sa bawat character sa pelikula. The film is a good valentine movie for all of us especially for those who are hopeless romantic.

My Verdict:4/5
