Beauty, Brains, and Bloodshed: GMA Pictures’ “Red Crown” Premieres in Style, Now Showing in Cinemas

What happens when the pursuit of the perfect crown becomes a fight for survival?

Beauty, glamour, fierce competition, and bloodshed took center stage as GMA Pictures celebrated the premiere night of Red Crown on October 26, 2026, at Robinsons Galleria Movie World.

Directed by Dominic Zapata, Red Crown transforms the glamorous world of beauty pageants into a deadly survival game, bringing together an ensemble of beauty queens, Sparkle stars, and notable personalities for a thriller that blends satire, dark humor, mystery, and suspense.

The film follows 25 contestants competing in the 25th anniversary of the Queen of the Islands pageant, where a grand prize awaits the winner. However, the competition takes a horrifying turn when elimination means more than losing the crown—it means facing a fatal end.

As rivalries intensify and the contestants uncover the sinister system behind the competition, they must confront betrayal, sabotage, and the terrifying reality of a pageant where survival becomes the ultimate prize.

A Deadly Pageant with a Campy Twist

While Red Crown promises thrills and bloodshed, it also brings plenty of unexpected laughs through its exaggerated situations, outrageous moments, and entertaining performances.

In my initial reaction, I didn’t expect the film to be so fun, campy, and entertaining. I had such a good laugh at its absurdity, and the beauty queens truly brought out their funny sides in this one!

Beyond its humor, the film offers a satirical take on beauty pageants, exploring the pressures of perfection, fierce competition, female objectification, and the lengths people are willing to go for fame and fortune. By turning familiar pageant elements into a deadly game, Red Crown delivers a premise that is both outrageous and intriguing.

An Ensemble of Beauty Queens and Stars

One of the film’s biggest highlights is its impressive ensemble, featuring real-life beauty queens and Sparkle stars who bring their own personalities and screen presence to the competition.

The cast includes Yana Aduana, Alethea Ambrosio, Ara Arida, Herlene Budol, Skye Chua, Faith da Silva, Michelle Marquez Dee, Haley Dizon, MJ Encabo, Shuvee Etrata, Gazini Ganados, Rein Hillary, Maika Kemmochi, MJ Lastimosa, Aira Lopez, Sanya Lopez, Ahtisa Manalo, AZ Martinez, Ashley Ortega, Vanessa Peña, Sandy Riccio, Jade Tecson, Tarah Valencia, Yna Angela Uy, and Yza Thalia Uy.

They are joined by Michael De Mesa, Epy Quizon, Bianca Manalo, Vince Maristela, Roxie Smith, Christian Singson, Jay Ortega, Tim Yap, Pinky Tobiano, Cat Arambulo, Anna Magkawas, and Ruffa Gutierrez.

Written by Kit Villanueva and Ken de Leon, the film combines the spectacle of pageantry with dark comedy and survival-thriller elements, creating a competition where every contestant has something to lose—and staying alive is the ultimate victory.
