Disney’s Snow White and Eraserheads Docu-Musical earns PG; Others R-13 and R-16

The musical fantasy, “Disney’s Snow White,” and the documentary musical of the Filipino rock band, “Eraserheads: Combo on the Run,” have each received a PG rating (Parental Guidance) from the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).

MTRCB Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto-Antonio said that “PG movies will be better appreciated by young audiences below 13 years of age if viewed with adult guidance and supervision.”

The PG rating ensures that parents are aware of the content that may require explanation for younger viewers.

The South Korean crime thriller, “Nocturnal,” about a brother seeking the truth after his sibling’s death, is rated R-13 for audiences aged 13 and older.

While the horror-thriller films, “Sofia the Possession,” centering on a 14-year-old girl’s search for her missing mother, and the Filipino- produced “Postmortem,” about a paranormal phenomenon  involving Rex clothed with a supernatural ability, were rated R-16, intended for audiences aged 16 and above.

Sotto-Antonio urged parents and adults to promote conversation with children on scenes that could influence their young minds.

“Parental guidance is very important to help young audiences understand borderline scenes to avoid misinterpretations of the film’s content,” said Sotto-Antonio.
