Movie Review: My Amanda

My Amanda tells the story of unusually close best friends TJ and Amanda, with pet names 'Fuffy' and 'Fream,' respectively, as they go through the motions of their relationship as long-time best friends while dealing with their own complicated relationships. Two unusually close friends share every aspect of their lives together. As their lives evolve, their bond remains the only constant.

My Amanda is a beautiful love story. It is a heartwarming journey of love, friendship, and self worth. Piolo and Alessandra just act naturally and feels like you are just watching real friends in a film. The film gears away to the usual formula of Filipino rom com film and shines with its authenticity. The screenplay is done creatively and the script is full of emotion. The cinematography is outstanding and felts like painting and vivid to watch on screen. Kudos to Alessandra De Rossi for mounting this film so well and this is a decent one for a first time filmmaker. I also appreciate the contribution of the supporting cast that is worth noting from Ms. Luz Valdez, Jess Mendoza, Alex Medina up to Helga Krapf. Prepared to be touched and moved with its overflowing feels anchored with good performance of the leads. My Amanda is just refreshing and one of the good Filipino film to watch this year.

My Verdict: 4.5/5
