A soft boy. A strong girl. Tayo Muna Habang Hindi Pa Tayo is a love story that comes close but not far enough. “Why are there so many love stories? Because it feels good to watch how two people out of billions, find each other and connect.” Denise O Hara, who made her debut last year with the acclaimed Mamang moves to a different genre for her sophomore feature which, despite her seeming optimism, is a love story grounded by anxiety and uncertainty. “It’s all about that moment when one says “I love you” and all the assumptions, repercussions and yes, even traumas that those words carry.”
I just love the acting, the dynamics of character and obvious chemistry of Jane Oineza and JC Santos in this Cinema One Originals 2019 unique and fresh take on hugot film, Tayo Muna Habang Hindi Pa Tayo. The film’s obviously anchored on the acting prowess of its lead with and with its good screenplay that even though mostly long take of dialogues but still effectively work to tell the story of a modern couple. The editing and its non linear story telling helps to showcase the uniqueness and interesting element of the film. Kudos to the film on succeeding in giving a fresh take on Filipino modern relationship drama hugot film. Tayo Muna Habang Hindi Pa Tayo is easily one of the good catch on this year’s Cinema One Originals Film Festival.
My Verdict: 4/5
