MTRCB invites moviegoers to relive ‘Home Along Da Riles’ as reunion film heads to cinemas

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) is inviting Filipino moviegoers to relive one of the country's most beloved television classics after giving Home Along Da Riles: Da Reunion a PG (Parental Guidance) rating.

The beloved neighborhood of Home Along Da Riles is returning to the big screen, bringing with it a wave of nostalgia for generations of Filipinos who grew up watching the iconic television sitcom led by the late Comedy King Dolphy.

The original sitcom, which aired from the early 1990s, chronicled the everyday struggles, humor, and triumphs of ordinary Filipino families living beside railroad tracks, becoming one of the country's most enduring comedy programs.

MTRCB Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto said the film is expected to resonate with generations of viewers who grew up watching the original program.

Also receiving a PG classification is the highly anticipated animated feature Toy Story 5, featuring the voices of Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, and Joan Cusack. The latest installment reunites audiences with Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and the rest of the beloved toy gang.

Among the more mature offerings reviewed by the Board are Voice Message, a horror-thriller starring Paulina Diazgrandados and David Palmer, and the science-fiction film Saccharine, both classified R-16. The drama feature 10s Across the Borders / Patawid, exclusive to SM Cinemas, also received an R-16 rating.

Meanwhile, thriller film Hungry was rated PG, while Megaworld Cinemas' exclusive screening of Premiere Cut: Tigers Are Not Afraid – Director's Cut, a fantasy-horror title, was likewise reviewed by the Board.

Sotto encouraged moviegoers and parents to continue using the MTRCB classification system as a guide in choosing films appropriate for their families.
