THE
Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has issued
age-appropriate classifications for films set to premiere this week,
guiding audiences in making informed viewing choices.
The
Japanese animated film, “Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club,”
has been rated G (General Audience), suitable for all audiences.
The comedy-drama, “Rental Family,” received a PG (Parental Guidance) rating, for under 13-year-olds accompanied by a parent or guardian.
The film stars Brendan Fraser as an American actor based in Japan working in a rental family agency, where he plays roles in the lives of strangers.
Also
rated PG are the Chinese animated action adventure, “The Legend of Hei
2,” the science fiction, “The Incredible Shrinking Man,” and the epic
fantasy adventure, “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring,”
which marks its 25th anniversary.
These films offer a wide range of genres suitable for children and ideal for family bonding.
“Younger children may find some scenes thrilling or slightly scary. These films would be better appreciated by young audiences if viewed with adult guidance and supervision,” said MTRCB Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto.
For
mature audiences, the supernatural psychological horror film, “Return
to Silent Hill,” has been rated R-16 (Restricted-16), for viewers aged
16 and above due to its mature theme, strong language and scenes of
violence.
Meanwhile, the American horror film, “Primate,” received R-16 and R-18 (Restricted-18) classifications. R-18 is for 18 and above viewers.
The
Agency assures the public that all films have undergone meticulous
reviews to ensure age-appropriate classifications, reflecting the
Board’s commitment to safeguarding audiences while promoting responsible
viewing habits.
