When
Obet saves Nerisa, a beautiful maiden floating in the sea, strange
things and misfortunes befall on the island. Since then, Nerisa has been
blamed for everything and she’s even suspected to be a mermaid because
of her beauty and mystery.
Lusted by men and envied by women, Nerisa doesn’t care about all the issues thrown at her. The only one that matters is Obet, her savior and now her husband. So, when Obet went missing after an accident at sea, she committed herself to do and give everything – including her body to find him.

Nerisa is beautiful tale on women empowerment. It has an old story with mythical element but the approach in storytelling is very modern and poetic with outstanding cinematography. Believable performance from Cindy Miranda & Sheree Bautista and sexiness overload from Aj Raval, Sean De Guzman and Aljur Abrenica. Overall Nerisa is an affecting and small community story but has a lot to say on our society.
My Verdict: 4/5
