Movie Review: A Short History of a Few Bad Things

In the southern Philippine city of Cebu a troubled detective struggles to solve a series of grisly killings, while a deep conspiracy works to keep the truth just out of his reach.

The Short History of Few Bad Things is for me the most palatable or not the best work of Keith Deligero. It is a political satire as it best with a well made mockumentary with inner layers on the side that can easily be followed by the audience. Though the film is a crime detective type of story, the film perfectly captures the beauty of Cebu. The effective performance of VictorNeri and Jay Gonzaga and other Cebuano locals and actors including the filmmaker Remton Siega Zuasola are noteworthy and worth watching. Seeing local actors in this film make this film more effective, natural and shines on its own glory.  A Short History of Few Bad Things creates a distraction from the dark subject of the story and for me they been able to succeed with the treatment that they would like to achieve.
Overall, I love the totality of the film from its originals songs, effective treatment, originality, up to visually stunning cinematography. This is a another good catch for me in this year's Cinema One Originals.

My Verdict: 4/5
