Movie Review: Paglisan

Crisanto and Dolores' marriage is going through a rough patch. Going through marital crisis, a couple's marriage is tested when Crisanto is diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s disease as Dolores sinks deeper into depression. Paglisan tells the story of how a married couple attempt to survive together through fading memories and fleeting identities.

Paglisan is easily my best film for this year's Cinema One Originals as it blown my heart away with its heartfelt story, screenplay and direction. Even though the film use a different medium in showcasing its story, its impact truly absorbs my heart and soul. Its so proud that our film animation industry could be able to deliver this quality content that deserve a recognition. Really, the strength of the film is its story in which each of the character has been given a chance to shine and its showcase a modern family drama story that everyone can relate to. The bonus feature of the film is its being musical and its original songs that were gentle to hear. So if you like to see a pinoy musical animated film with a heart, watch this. A must watch and highly recommended.

My Verdict: 5/5
