Movie Review: Loving In Tandem

Loving In Tandem follows the story of Shine (Maymay Entrata), a positive and determined girl who will do everything for her family. She meets the balikbayan Luke (Edward Barber) in the most unusual circumstance and later on finds herself experiencing various stages of love – as they get closer.

With a bit of a language barrier getting in the way (or not, really), the two accidentally put themselves in an awkward (but nonetheless, kilig!) situation when Luke announced in their entire barangay that Shine is his “JOWA.”

Will the language of their hearts triumph over whatever differences Shine and Luke have? How will they change each other’s lives?

Movie Review: Honor Thy Father

After years of financial struggle, Kaye (Meryll Soriano) and Edgar (John Lloyd Cruz) are finally on a roll. Kaye has made millions promoting her father's investment scheme to her friends and fellow Pentecostal parishioners at the Church of Yeshua. But their world unravels instantaneously one day when Edgar swings by his father-in-law's house to find the place ransacked and the old man gone. It doesn't take long for Kaye's friends to turn on the couple, who go to the fiery bishop for help. But he's not exactly generous, preoccupied as he is with raising money for a new temple (and with the promise of extravagant kickbacks). The parishioners continue to demand their money back, and Kaye and Edgar start receiving death threats. When the tension erupts in violence, Edgar decides to seek the aid of his criminally inclined family.

Movie Review: Desaparadiso

Ibong Adarna meets Martial Law. A dark valentine to turbulent period in Philippine history, sans the political commentary. A retelling of a famous Filipino magical tale minus the magic. This Is Not A Film By Khavn.

One day, they just disappeared. Just like that. One didn’t go to work, one didn’t go to his appointment, didn’t meet his date. The dishes served were left to rot, and the bed remained immaculate; the sheets unruffled and unslept in. One cannot say if they are alive or dead. And for this reason, there is no funeral, no nine-day wake, no mass, no burning of candles, or recitation of litanies for the dead. Because they are not dead (or maybe there are), and who is to know what has become of them?

Movie Review: Give Up Tomorrow

A very interesting investigative documentay movie. Pinakita dito ang other side of story in which yung mga inakusahan particularly the lead guy. Interesting yung subject niya na mala CSI yung dating in a documentary way. May Q & A portion din na kung saan pinatotoo pa nung isang
