MTRCB rates Marvel’s Thunderbolts* PG; Others receives Age-Appropriate Classification

PREPARE yourselves, Marvel fans, as the 36th installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, “Thunderbolts,*” has been rated PG (Parental Guidance) by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).

The film follows a team of antiheroes as they embark on a dangerous mission that forces them to confront the darkest corners of their pasts.

MTRCB Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto-Antonio reminds parents that under PG, “films may contain themes and language issues that require parental guidance for viewers aged 13 and under.”

For thriller-lovers, the Filipino-produced horror, “Untold,” starring Jodi Sta. Maria, JK Labajo, Mylene Dizon and Gloria Diaz, has been rated R-13 (Restricted 13) which does not allow 13 and below to watch the film, due to frightening scenes, swear words, and menacing language.

The suspense-thriller, “Isolated,” featuring Joel Torre, Candy Pangilinan and Yassi Pressman, tells the intense story of a nurse and her patient attempting to escape a violent intruder, is rated R-16 suitable for ages 16 and above.

The Canadian horror-thriller, “Kryptic,” from Pioneer Films, is rated R-16 and R-18 to allow viewers the option to choose which version is appropriate for them.

MTRCB Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto-Antonio reminded viewers that the MTRCB age-appropriate ratings can be used as a tool for well-informed decisions.

“Our goal at MTRCB is to empower audiences to make informed decisions for themselves and their families. By promoting media literacy and responsible viewing, we're encouraging Filipinos to be critical and discerning consumers of content,” said Sotto-Antonio.
